ES MUSIC

The music programme for Elementary School (ES) is designed to develop understanding of music through experiences in singing, playing instruments, performing rhythms, moving to music, composing, and listening. Students also develop the ability to read and notate music and also exercise critical thinking skills by investigating and analyzing all apects of the music discipline. It is important that students also make connections between music and other fields of knowledge.

Throughout the academic year, students have an opportunity to express themselves through events such as the Elementary School Holiday Production in December. In February students are exposed to the steel pan for the onset Trinidad and Tobago Carnival. The academic year then ends with a final showcase of the Art Festival in June 2016 as we look at instruments and forms as well as different music genres.
